Accounting Manager

Overview:

Nerdy is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team, based out of our corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri. The Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting operations of our organization. You will lead a team of accounting professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and streamlining processes for optimal efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting management roles

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, and financial reporting standards

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • Manage a team of accounting professionals

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month end close responsibilities and preparation of financial statements

  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training

  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes

  • Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost-saving measures

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all accounting transactions
