Senior Accountant
Overview:
Nerdy is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our team, based out of our corporate office in St. Louis, Missouri. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this individual will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and providing analytical support to the leadership team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry or public accounting firm
Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, etc.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements
Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Conduct account reconciliations and analyze variances
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process
Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
Maintain accurate and organized financial records
Participate in the implementation and improvement of accounting processes
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff members
Contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures
